Benefits of Dental Veneer Teeth
Patients throughout Bloomingdale and the surrounding areas (Carol Stream, Bartlett, Glendale Heights, Roselle) love how their teeth look after receiving veneers. Veneers are perfect in creating the perfectly beautiful smile. Key benefits to dental veneers include:
- No surgery is needed, as your natural teeth will be used.
- Reduced recovery time.
- They look natural, as they are custom-made to match your teeth.
- Veneers are built out of stain-resistant material.
Once you arrive at Stratford Dental, we will take an impression of your teeth. The completed impression will then be submitted and created in a lab. The veneer/s will be formed to match the shape, size and color of your teeth. This customization can take a week or more to complete.
For the veneer teeth/tooth to be put in place, Dr. Evans will first be removing a portion of the enamel. This is essential so that the veneer will lay flat and aligned with your gum tissue. Once the tooth is prepped, a temporary veneer will be placed using removable glue. While wearing the temporary veneer, please avoid eating any food that can shift it out of place. Also, it is very important to brush your teeth gently. Since the temporary is held by removable glue, it can be moved rather easily.
Once your permanent veneer teeth are prepared, you will come back to Stratford Dental so that Dr. Evans can remove and replace the temporary. He will first make sure that the custom veneer is a perfect fit, attaching it with a water-based solution. At this time, he will complete any adjustments if necessary. Once everything is confirmed good to go with the veneers, the tooth will be cleaned and the veneer will then be bonded.
After the Procedure
Your teeth will normally feel uncomfortable for a few days after the veneers have been placed. Dr. Evans recommends for patients with their new dental veneers to watch what they eat for a few days. Make sure you stick with foods that are soft. While some time is needed for recovery when getting a veneer procedure, it will be completely worth it. In the end you will have a beautiful smile to show off to your friends and family!
